After many years of web projects requiring various ranges of content management, we decided to build a modular system that can accomodate any combination of content and functionality needs. We have developed a system that includes basic page, user, and file management and allows for plugins to be added.

The Motivation

We realized that we did not want to be in the content business, nor did our clients want to rely on us for every missing comma or bolding of a word. With Soapbox, we can start collaborating on page architecture and content while design and development are in process. The client has access to their site during development and after launch.

The Benefits

Web sites and applications can be built to accomplish their actual objective rather than watered down functionality that fits into a pre-defined box of an open source system. New plugins can be developed to seemlessly integrate with the CMS.

The Alternatives

We have worked with and researched systems like WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal enough to realize that they are not flexible enough to meet our clients needs. We've also looked at them closely enough to realize that it would take more work to customize these sytems than to build a system of our own.
